Project Healed

Frequently asked questions.

What Project Healed is, and what we believe.

1. What is Project Healed?

Project Healed is a conversation at the intersection of faith, trauma, healing, and wholeness. We bring together trusted theologians, pastors, psychologists, trauma experts, attorneys, and survivors to explore how people can experience healing spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and physically. We believe Jesus came not only to forgive sin but also to bring restoration to every area of human life.

2. What do you believe about the authority of Scripture?

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the primary source for understanding God, humanity, salvation, healing, and spiritual formation. Every conversation we have is intended to be rooted in a biblical worldview, even when we engage insights from psychology, neuroscience, or trauma research. Guest participation reflects expertise, not endorsement, and we encourage listeners to evaluate all perspectives through the lens of Scripture.

3. Is Project Healed presenting final answers on every issue?

No. Project Healed is a conversation, not a conclusion. We are committed to creating biblically grounded discussions around healing, trauma, faith, leadership, and restoration while continuing to learn, ask better questions, and develop healthier language. Because these topics are complex, there may be times when a guest or host expresses an idea that would benefit from additional clarity or perspective. We do not claim to have every answer, but we are committed to approaching these conversations with humility, biblical conviction, and a willingness to learn as we pursue healing together.

4. What do you believe about trauma?

We believe trauma is a real human experience that affects the body, mind, emotions, relationships, and spiritual life. Trauma is not simply a lack of faith. People can genuinely love God and still carry wounds from abuse, neglect, betrayal, violence, spiritual manipulation, or painful life experiences.

5. What do you believe about church hurt and spiritual abuse?

We believe spiritual abuse is real. Whenever spiritual authority is used to manipulate, control, intimidate, silence, exploit, or harm others, it misrepresents the heart of Jesus. We also believe healthy discernment is needed to distinguish genuine abuse from normal disagreements and disappointments.

6. What do you believe about the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in the New Testament remain active today, including prophecy, healing, words of knowledge, discernment, tongues, and miracles. These gifts should operate with humility, accountability, wisdom, biblical integrity, and love.

7. What do you believe about prophecy?

We believe God still speaks through prophetic ministry today. However, prophetic ministry is never infallible, never equal to Scripture, and should always be tested, weighed, and practiced within healthy community. We value prophetic integrity and accountability.

8. Can Christians experience mental or emotional health struggles?

Absolutely. Throughout Scripture we see faithful people wrestle with grief, fear, anxiety, despair, loss, disappointment, and emotional suffering. Seeking counseling, trauma-informed care, medical support, spiritual direction, or pastoral care can be wise and appropriate expressions of stewardship and healing.

9. What do you believe healing looks like?

Healing is not merely the absence of pain. Biblical healing involves increasing freedom, greater wholeness, deeper connection with God, healthier relationships, renewed identity, emotional maturity, and spiritual growth. Healing can happen suddenly, progressively, or through a combination of spiritual, relational, and therapeutic processes.

10. What is your vision for the Church?

We believe the Church should be a safe place for truth, repentance, restoration, accountability, healing, and spiritual growth. We envision churches that are deeply biblical and deeply compassionate, where the Holy Spirit is welcomed, leaders are accountable, wounds are acknowledged, survivors are heard, and healing is pursued.
